BBNYA Review – Cursed in Love by Zoe Ashwood

Hello Everyone!

Today I’m reviewing Cursed in Love by Zoe Ashwood! This is one of the books I read during BBNYA 2022 and it was fantastic. Thank you to BBNYA for providing me with the book and for the BBNYA and TWR team for organizing this tour. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

BBNYA is a yearly competition where book bloggers from all over the world read and score books written by indie authors, ending with 15 finalists and one overall winner.  If you are an author and wish to learn more about the BBNYA competition, you can visit the official website http://www.bbnya.com or Twitter @bbnya_official. I’ll do anything to protect my family, even con my way into the most dangerous treasure hunt in the magical world.

With three men by my side, I embark on a mission to save my father and siblings from the same horrible illness that took my mother.

I need a guide into the Egyptian desert, and my ex is the best man for the job…even though he’s an irritatingly sexy vampire.

The strongest curse breaker I know just happens to be my best friend, who I’ve been crushing on for years.

And to finish off our team, a mysterious stranger I can’t stop thinking about is also our fiercest competitor.

We can only win the game if we trust each other completely. No secrets, no pretense, no lies.

But not everyone plays by the same rules. And if I’m not careful, that might cost me my heart…or my life.

Cursed in Love is the first book in the finished paranormal RH trilogy that will take you on a magical adventure around the world. Curl up and enjoy this steamy romance in which the heroine doesn’t have to choose between her three heroes – she gets to have them all.

This book was so much fun. It was fast-paced and full of adventure. It also had fantastic characters and plenty of steam. This book was so addicting that I read it in a single day.

The first thing I want to talk about is the adventure aspect of this story. Nora and Levi have signed up for a dangerous, globe trotting competition to find three magic items. The first team to find their items win a day in a library that holds all sorts of secret and magic information. The first stop on the adventure is Egypt, which is full of curses and other dangerous things. The adventure was fast paced, and written in a way where I could feel the danger radiating off of the page. The adventure gave me Amazing Race vibes and it was so fun to read.

As far as the characters go, I loved them. Nora is a badass. She’s determined and fierce and I love everything about her. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy to learn more about her and her backstory. Levi is also a pretty great character, though I’m very curious about the secrets he’s holding. Raphael, Nora’s ex who happens to be a vampire, was mysterious.

This book was very steamy. It was my first why choose? Book and it certainly won’t be my last. The spicy scenes were incredibly steamy, and it was very fun to read.

Overall, this was a very fun book. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy and seeing how Nora and Levi make out with the other two stops on their adventure. I’m also wondering how the Sea Dragon plays into books two and three.

Zoe Ashwood writes sexy paranormal romance for women who believe in magic and true love. While she’s always been a reader, Zoe’s writing used to be limited to diary scribbles and bad (really bad) teenage poetry. Then she participated in NaNoWriMo 2015 and never looked back. Some 700,000 words later, she’s still in love with the art of making up stories – and making her characters fall in love.
