Hello Everyone!
Today I’m doing the Goodreads Book Tag! I found this tag on Zezee with Books and it seemed like a fun tag to do. It looks like this tag was originally created by Fred Weasley Died Laughing on YouTube.
What was the last book you marked as “read”?
The last book I marked as read was Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo.
What are you currently reading?
I have five books listed as “currently reading” on Goodreads right now, but I’m only actively reading Yellowface by R.K. Kuang.
What was the last book you marked as “TBR”?
The last book I marked as TBR is Business or Pleasure by Rachel Lynn Solomon, which is a fun romance that I’m looking forward to reading soon.
What books do you plan to read next?
I’m a mood reader, so it’s hard to say what I’m going to read next. I’m leaning towards picking up Taken at the Flood by Agatha Christie though.
Do you use the star rating system?
I almost always rate books on Goodreads when I finish them using their star system, but I don’t really go by what they say the stars mean. I also really wish Goodreads would introduce half-stars because that would make my star ratings look a lot more accurate.
Are you doing a 2023 reading challenge?
I am! The past few years I’ve set my goal at 52 books which is achievable enough and it doesn’t come with the stress of Goodreads shaming me for being behind.
Do you have a wishlist?
Technically I have an Amazon wishlist, but I don’t update it very often. I do not have a separate Goodreads shelf for books I’d like to buy.
What book do you plan to buy next?
I’m not sure what book I’m going to buy next. I’m trying to slow down with my book buying, but I’ll likely buy the August book for the book club that we’re in once we pick a book.
Do you have any favourite quotes, would you like to share a few?
I’m not really good at remembering quotes, but I do like “I, myself, am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions” which is a line from Augusten Burroughs.
Who are your favourite authors?
I have quite a few favourite authors. Unsurprisingly, I love Agatha Christie. Taylor Jenkins Reid has become an auto-buy author for me after falling in love with her last four books. I’m also a big fan of a lot of romance authors including Ali Hazelwood, Elena Armas, Jen DeLuca, and Jasmine Guillory.
Have you joined any groups?
I have, but they aren’t very active. I find Goodreads to be a bit of a clunky platform, so I tend to keep my socializing to other bookish social media outlets.
Who do you tag?
Anyone who wants to join in!
