Top 5 Audiobooks on my TBR

Hello everyone!

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Bionic Bookworm, and it’s now hosted by Meeghan Reads. If you’re interested in participating, check out their wonderful blog to get the details and the prompts for each week!

This week’s prompt is audiobooks. Audiobooks are something I struggle with, but I would like to try to get into more. Since I haven’t listened to many audiobooks, I’m twisting the topic a bit to talk about some of the audiobooks I’d like to try. Some of these are books I’ve read before, but I’d like to reread them as an audiobook at some point.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, narrated by Stephen Fry

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is one of my favourite books. I’ve read it multiple times and it’s always a fun read. I would love to try this book as an audiobook because it would be a new way to experience the story. I also love that it’s narrated by Stephen Fry because I thought he was great as the narrator of the film.

Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid, narrated by Jennifer Beals, Benjamin Bratt, Judy Greer, Pablo Schreiber

Daisy Jones and the Six is written as an interview and I’m curious to see how it translates to an audiobook. I like that it’s narrated by a cast and I think that would translate to an entertaining listening experience.

American Gods by Neil Gaiman, narrated by Ron McLarty, Daniel Oreskes, full cast

American Gods has been on my TBR for at least 10 years now. I’ve enjoyed all of the Neil Gaiman books I’ve read so far and I feel like I should really give this book a try at some point. What I might end up doing is trying this book as an audiobook. I like that it has a full cast, and it’s on Scribd which is an added bonus.

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, a full cast production

I read Good Omens years ago and I loved it. I thought it was such a fun book and I remember reading it in public and trying not to laugh too much. I’ve been wanting to reread it before watching the television show, but that hasn’t happened yet. It looks like they released an audiobook narrated by the cast of the show and that sounds like a lot of fun.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, narrated by Rebecca Soler

Last year I listened to most of Heartless by Marissa Meyer so I could finish it before a book club meeting. Even though I didn’t love Heartless, I did enjoy the narrator, Rebecca Soler. I’ve been wanting to read The Lunar Chronicles for a long time now and I think I might try them as an audiobook.

  1. I don’t read audio books either but am definitely intrigued by Daisy Jones and the Six. It’s on my TBR but the audiobook sounds as though it would be interesting.
