How many books do you usually read at once?

I usually have at least two books on the go. I do a lot of buddy reads, book clubs, and blog tours which means I usually have a “me book” going and then one of these books on the go.

If you’re reading more than one book at a time, how do you decide when to switch to reading the other book?

If it’s a book that I’m buddy reading, there’s usually a page or chapter that I want to hit to catch up with my buddy before I switch to the other book. Otherwise, I’m a mood reader so it depends on what I’m in the mood for.

Do you ever switch bookmarks while you’re part way through a book?

Not intentionally, but I have a habit of putting a bookmark down and either losing it (or having it stolen by a cat) and then I grab an other one.

Where do you keep the book that you are currently reading?

Typically my currently reading books live next to my bed. Sometimes they live in the living room, but with the kittens, it’s not safe to leave books on the coffee table at the moment.

How long do you typically read for in one go?

This depends on how much time I have. I love reading for at least an hour in one go, but reality means that a lot of times it’s 5 minutes here, 20 minutes there, etc.

Do you read hard covers with the dust jackets on or off?

I almost always take the dust jacket off of hardcovers when I read them. I don’t like how the book slides out of them while I’m reading, so it’s just easier to set it aside.

Which position do you usually use to read?

If I’m reading my kindle, I like to lay down and read. If I’m reading a physical book, I usually sit. I tend to switch positions a bunch though, so it’s hard to pinpoint how I usually sit while reading.

Do you take the book you are reading everywhere you go?

Not usually. There are days where I know I won’t have time to read at work, so I don’t bring my book with me. If I’m reading a hardcover book, I rarely bring it with me because it’s a bit heavier than a paperback. If I’m reading a book on my kindle, I’m more likely to throw that in my bag because it’s so light.

How often do you update your current reading progress on Goodreads?

I usually only update it when I need to mark a book as currently reading or as finished. Sometimes I’ll update my progress along the way, but it’s not something that I make an effort to do.
