Top 5 Dedications

Hello everyone!

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Bionic Bookworm, and it’s now hosted by Meeghan Reads. If you’re interested in participating, check out their wonderful blog to get the details and the prompts for each week!

This week’s topic is book dedications! To be perfectly honest, I don’t usually read the dedication before I start a book, which is something I really ought to start doing. For this topic, I ended up sitting on my shelves and pulling off romance novels to find some dedications I liked.

Bet on It by Jodie Slaughter

The dedication: To me because, Bitch, we did it!

This is a fun dedication because the author is acknowledging that they accomplished something amazing! They wrote and published a book and they’re celebrating that achievement.

The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston

The dedication: For all the food lovers out there who burn popcorn in the microwave: we’d be too strong if we could cook, too.

This dedication made me laugh-out-loud when I read it. I appreciate fun dedications, especially ones that tell me a little bit more about the author.

Take A Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

The dedication: To those chasing dreams, never give up on them. We are not quitters, you hear me?

I like this dedication because it’s the kind of thing that people need to hear sometimes. Sometimes we need reminders to not give up on our dreams and to not quit.

Exes and O’s by Amy Lea

The dedication: To all the “crazy” ex-girlfriends

I like this dedication because it pairs so well with the book. One of the themes in Exes and O’s is how the term “crazy” is weaponized against women and how harmful that is.

Business or Pleasure by Rachel Lynn Solomon

The dedication: For anyone who took a little while to figure it out and anyone who’s still figuring it out–it’s never too late.

This is another one of those dedications that I like because sometimes it’s the kind of thing you need to hear. There’s lots of time to figure things out, there’s no rush.
