About

Hello everyone!

I’m Ashlee, and I’m a book dragon who decided to venture into the world of book blogging. I joined the online book community in December 2016, and now I can be found on Bookstagram, GoodreadsTwitter, and Pinterest.

This is the part of the About Me section where I tell you my “origin story,” and hopefully, you don’t skim through it because frankly, it’s not that exciting. Books have always been an important part of my life, and if I think about it, I can associate a book with almost every significant moment in my life. There’s The Next Place, which was gifted to me when my mother passed away. There’s A Series of Unfortunate Eventswhich is the series that got me hooked on reading when I was in grade 6. There’s The Perks of Being a Wallflowerwhich gives me flashbacks to a few different parts of my life. I could give more examples, but I think you get my point.

Like most book dragons, my TBR is out of control, and I’m surrounded by piles of books because my shelves are overflowing. For a while, I stopped reading YA books, but now that I’m twenty-six years old, I probably read an equal amount of adult and YA books. Currently, my favourite genres are contemporary, romance, and cozy mystery. However, this could change because I might wake up and decide that I want to go on a magical, dragon-filled adventure.

I’m a proud Ravenclaw, and I can’t stop buying stuff from small shops that show off my House pride. I’m a tea addict, and I have a hard time functioning without it. I have a black and white Scamper cat, who is full of sass and plans to con someone into giving him more treats. I like wine, and I’m trying to teach myself about tasting and those fancy terms like “tannins.” I grew up on Country Music, but I went through a solid pop-punk/emo phase, and the opening notes of Welcome to the Black Parade always grab my attention.

Finally, the name of my blog is a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy reference. In the book, 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything, and I’ve decided that books are the answer to life, the universe, and everything.
